What is a Key Information Document?

A short document that tells you who employs and pays you, your minimum pay, any deductions and your holiday.

EQL-KID-01 Version 1.1 Current from 3 October 2026 Personal to you — sent by your consultant

What it is

A Key Information Document (often called a "KID") is a short document — no more than two pages — that the law says every agency worker must get before they agree terms with an agency. Ours is called EQL-KID-01. It is written for you personally, with your own details filled in.

When you get it

Your first KID comes with your enrolment form, together with our Terms of Engagement, before we look for work for you. It gives the minimum pay we expect to pay you. Before your first assignment you get a new KID with that assignment's own pay, and you get a new one whenever your pay or how you are engaged changes.

What it tells you

  • Who employs you and who pays you — Equation Limited engages you and pays you weekly, through PAYE, into your own bank account.
  • Your minimum rate of pay — and how often you are paid.
  • Any deductions — only the ones the law requires, such as tax, National Insurance and pension. We never charge you to work.
  • Your holiday — how much paid holiday you get and how it is paid.
  • An example — a worked example of a week's pay, from gross pay to what reaches your bank.
  • Where to get help — the Fair Work Agency and Acas, which you can contact directly.

Accepting the Terms

Read your KID first, then the Terms of Engagement. You accept the Terms by ticking the box in your enrolment form. If anything is unclear, ask your consultant first — we can explain it in your language, at no cost to you.

Lost it?

While you are working with us, and for 6 weeks after your last shift, your personal shift link lets you download your documents. After that, ask us and we will send copies free within 5 working days.
